Linus Torvalds famous words for KDE

Date: Mon, 12 Dec 2005 17:46:21 -0800 (PST)
"I personally just encourage people to switch to KDE.
This 'users are idiots, and are confused by functionality' mentality of Gnome is a disease. If you think your users are idiots, only idiots will use it. I don't use Gnome, because in striving to be simple, it has long since reached the point where it simply doesn't do what I need it to do.
Please, just tell people to use KDE."
Linus

Who needs another flame war?
Please let everybody use what (s)he likes best, Saleem.
For me, this happens to be Gnome, but I couldn't care less if certain others hate it. I could say nasty things about KDE but why on earth would I?

As for Linus Torvalds, he doesn't even work on the graphical layer, he works on the kernel. Respect, but why is his opinion in this regard so important?

Use what works, you like and are comfortable with. That's my two cents

I agree with you Guys, Use what you like and suits you,me as being a Windows survivor feel comfortable with KDE ,the bloated Desktop Environment ,others would feel more comfortable with Gnome.

As far as Linus`s remarks,he might be correct in one way,KDE is amlost like Windows in look and feel so newbies and Linux convertees feel at ease with it,in many another aspects Gnome looks far more acceptable and superior to Gnome.
